Jambalaya Rice Mix

Adapted from a recipe I found on RecipeCottage.com

Mix together:

1 cup rice

1 Tbs. dried onion flakes

1/4 green bell pepper, diced

1 Tbs. parsley flakes

1 Bay Leaf

1.5 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon

1/2 tsp. garlic power

1/2 tsp. thyme

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

2 Tbs. tomato paste

Add the mixture to a pot with 3 cups of water. Mix well, and bring to boil (*You can add 1 cup chopped up, precooked sausage at this point).

Stir again, lower the heat to simmer, and cover the pot.

Simmer for 20 minutes. Take off the stove but leave covered for 5 more minutes.

Discard the bay leaf and fluff up the rice with a fork.
